Description
SIRE/Fort Bend - is accepting new volunteers, side walkers and horse leaders for the fall semester. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and commit to at least one class per week. Side walkers do not need horse experience, but must be able to walk comfortably along side the horse. Leaders need to have a good knowledge of horses SIRE, Houston’s Therapeutic Equestrian Center, has been improving the quality of life for people with special needs and disabilities through therapeutic horsemanship since 1983. Annually, we serve more than 300 clients with the people power of 30,000 volunteer hours at 3 locations in the Houston area. The next scheduled training event for the fall semester will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Please call or email Maryann Gerity to arrange a visit so you can experience firsthand the wonder of therapeutic riding and she will explain more of the requirements.
