Become a FBISD Mentor

Description

You can make a difference in the future of a student! The Parent and Community Engagement office recruits volunteer mentors to meet with students from all grade levels for 30-60 minutes once a week during the school day. Research shows mentoring supports the basic needs of affection, approval, belonging, and security while improving a student’s social and emotional well-being, self-confidence, and attitude to learning. Everyone is a potential mentor! Parents and individuals from the community, businesses, and local organizations who are genuinely interested in supporting the academic, social and emotional needs of Fort Bend ISD students, are invited to join this program. All prospective mentors must attend a one-time mandatory one hour training and submit an online FBISD Volunteer Criminal History Application
